Relevé School of Ballet was founded in 2021 by Grace Buskell (RAD RTS, ARAD, BSc Hons).

Grace attended Susan Robinson School of Ballet and The London Russian Ballet School, later training full-time at The School of Ballet Theatre UK. She was coached privately by Roberta Marquez, principal of The Royal Ballet, and danced with Atlantic City Ballet, NJ, USA and The London Ballet Company.

Grace has completed all her RAD examinations up to Advanced 2 and has taught ballet for many years at various schools in Surrey and London. She gained her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies in 2018 with the Royal Academy of Dance, where she now holds Registered Teacher Status.

In 2021 Grace graduated with a First-class BSc (Hons) Psychology degree from Durham University. As a psychology graduate, Grace is a firm believer that a good dance education should promote a dancers’ physical and mental health, as well as their technique and artistry. She hopes to develop not only creative and technically proficient dancers, but also happy and heathy young people.

Throughout her time at Durham, she held the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship for the Performing Arts and remained active member of the dance community. She was President of Durham University Ballet Company, danced the role of ‘Aurora’ in The Sleeping Beauty, choreographed for numerous shows and represented the University at nationwide competitions. She also wrote and choreographed her own ballet ‘The Four Seasons’, which was performed alongside a live orchestra by Durham University Ballet Company.

Recently, Grace was invited to sit on the RAD’s Global Membership and Marketing sub-committee which works alongside the RAD’s Executive Board and The Board of Trustees.
Relevé (pronounced 'RE-LE-VEY') means ‘raised’ or ‘lifted’ in ballet. Relevé School of Ballet is committed to raising the standard of ballet training and is dedicated to providing a consistently exceptional standard of teaching to boys and girls age 4+, in a friendly and supportive environment.

Whilst most students dance recreationally, the school offers training and expert advice to those looking to embark on a career in dance and are always on hand to guide and support any student who wants to take their training to the next level.

Having had both a ballet career and attended Durham University, Grace is also uniquely placed to offer first-hand knowledge and specific guidance on balancing academic achievement and high-level ballet training.

Regardless of whether a student wants to dance recreationally or professionally, the school believes that every student deserves to experience the joy of ballet under the instruction of a passionate and professional teacher.
